An Opportunity for Innovation in the Fight Against Climate Change

The Slovenia ClimAccelerator 2024 project was an exceptional opportunity for startup companies looking to develop innovative solutions to combat climate change. I was also included in the program with BY/MARTIS, which was held under the auspices of EIT Climate-KIC and in collaboration with the Ljubljana University Incubator.

By using a validated tool, we were able to make an accurate forecast of BY/MARTIS impact on the environment and climate change, providing a better understanding of the long-term effects of our solutions:
BY/MARTIS contributes to SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production and brings numerous positive impacts that shape a more sustainable future for fashion.

Our vision is to change consumer habits, encourage less frequent but more thoughtful purchases, and reduce fashion's impact on the environment. With modularity, we encourage women to invest in fewer clothing pieces that are high-quality and versatile. Such garments last longer and reduce the need for constantly seeking new trends.

Environmental Impact
Our solution has significant potential for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as it decreases demand for new clothing, extends the lifespan of garments, and promotes sustainable practices. In the coming year, we aim to reach 100 eco-conscious women, of whom we expect 75% to change their shopping habits, resulting in a reduction of -565 kg CO2eq. Over the next 5 years, we anticipate a reduction of -5.6 t CO2eq.
